Sassafras Tea and Civil War Living History Event 4th Saturday and Sunday in April
Home cooked ham & beans lunches & HUGE bake sale with home baked pies and breads. Civil War encampment, battle reenactments, and musical entertainment by the Ten Penny Bit Band at the Blue/Grey Ball. Fun for all ages.


Labor Day Antiques & Vintage Collectibles Market  
Booths are open from sunup Saturday to 4pm on Monday. Over 100 dealers of antiques, vintage collectibles, crafts and food line the streets of historic Vernon, IN. Clean restroom facilities available. For Vendor space, contact the Historical Society at 812-346-8989.


Historic Oak Grove Church Homecoming & Pie Auction 3rd Sunday in September
Pitch-in Noon meal, live entertainment. Proceeds used to maintain the historic 1868 landmark building, Scipio, Indiana 


Hector’s Haunted Evenings Featuring a Ghost Walk & Mysterious Dinner 2nd Friday and Saturday in October
Local ghostly tales presented by Society Members and the Jennings Co. Players. Enjoy a homemade five course meal served in a most mysterious manner and then take the ghost walk along the streets of historic Vernon, Indiana. The walk last approximately 45 minutes. Call late September for tickets.
